Training about Public Hearings

Association of Election Officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AEOBiH), in cooperation with partners Centers for Civil Initiatives (CCI) and the Centre for Promotion of Civil Society (CSPC), implemented the project "Training of Public Hearings" in the period from February to August, 2007. year.

The main objectives of the project were:

  • Develop the capacity of civil society to participate in public debates and be engaged in the state parliament;
  • To increase public awareness of the opportunities to participate in the legislative process;
  • Improve the legislative process;

During the project implementation, AEOBiH held 8 trainings and 6 public forums. The project beneficiaries were civil society organizations in the following regions: Banja Luka, Bihac, Tuzla, Brcko, Sarajevo, Livno, Mostar and Trebinje.

Specific target groups were selected in collaboration with partners - CCI and CSPC, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Command on the basis of the results of the public information campaign and expressed interest. A total of 62 representatives of civil society organizations and media attended trainings and distributed 600 brochures.

This project is implemented thanks to the funds of the OSCE and the US government.
