"Participatory budgeting - the possibility of effective citizen engagement" is a project that aims to create a favorable environment for active participation and cooperation of citizens, political representatives, and civil servants. The overall goal of the project is to contribute to a more functional local government in Bosnia and Herzegovina based on citizen participation. An important factor for the readiness and motivation to participate in the public life of the community of citizens is to give them opportunities to participate in the decision-making process. Our goal is to involve citizens in local decision-making processes in three selected municipalities. We will use participatory budgeting (PB) as a very useful approach recommended by the World Bank and the United Nations that "can improve the transparency of municipal work and encourage citizen participation. Through this process, citizens can offer their ideas and projects they find useful to the community. It should be supported through the municipal budget. Through a series of activities including workshops and public gatherings, citizens will have the opportunity to choose proposals for support. This "strengthens the dialogue between the public and local authorities, thus fostering an atmosphere of mutual trust and social peace".
