More active participation of women in political and public life in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Association of Election Officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AEOBiH) implemented the project "more active participation of women in political and public life in Bosnia and Herzegovina" in the period October 2012 - March 2013 thanks to funds from the Fund for Local Initiatives Canadian government.

This project aims to educate women about the changes and reforms that they encourage them to influence decision-making and participate as active citizens in local and central government, and support them in developing skills for independent provision of information and use of information for taking actions that have to aimed at creating the environment in which women are active and integral part of the development of public policy-making. Women from four municipalities / municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Doboj, Usora, East Ilidza and Centar attended training sessions on the following topics:

Responsible authority and participation of citizens, Human rights, and Gender equality. During the implementation of a total of 545 women were educated, created brochures with the training materials and practical examples. In the course of the project was made and analysis to motivate the less developed regions to participate in the democratic process and published on the website of the association.
